Steps to save Whatsapp status and photos on Android Smartphone

Whatsapp used to be an app a few years ago where you could only message to the people you know but now Whatsapp lets you share photos and videos to the ones you love and Whatsapp quite adding new features to it. Now Whatsapp has introduced a feature called Whatsapp status which is just similar to the feature of Instagram and Snapchat stories where the things get removed after 24 hours & if you want to see someone status then you only have to click on Whatsapp status.

But what if you want to save Whatsapp status? Now you can save Whatsapp status by just following a couple of steps:-

The whole process requires a file manager on your Android smartphone. You can use any file manager of your choice but the steps may vary.

To keep things simple, we used the Google Files App, which is a free file manager app for Android, for this tutorial. You can easily download and install it via Google Play.

Now, follow these steps to save WhatsApp Status video on your Android Phone:
  • Open Google Files app on your Android smartphone, and click on the hamburger icon present on the top-left and tap Settings.
  • On the next screen, enable Show hidden files.
  • Now go back to the Files app's main menu and tap Internal storage.
  • Now go to the WhatsApp folder > Media > ‘.Statuses'.
  • To save a photo or a video, long-press on it and tap Copy. Now paste the file in any folder of your choice in the phone's internal storage.

By following these steps, you'll be able to save any photo or video that was set as a contact's WhatsApp Status. This method allows you to save any WhatsApp status you've opened even if it's been more than 24 hours since the status was posted.
